A delightful scene at Sykes Lane crossing near Saxilby. Signaller Dorothy
Wathall allows a lorry to cross this quiet crossing. Repeater indications in
the crossing cabin mirror the block instruments in Saxilby signalbox to tell
the crossing keeper the state of the line, and therefore if it is safe to
allow vehicles to cross. There is no interlocking on the gates, just the
dilligence of the crossing keeper to keep road and rail vehicles seperate.
Of note here is the old cast iron 'trespass' signs.
